Happy New Year!
What a year it has been for the Clarendon Hills Historical Society. We have finally been able to move our files, furniture and artifacts back into Heritage Hall. The floor has been sealed and an epoxy finish put on to mitigate the smoke odor coming from the floor. The future projects this year will be new windows and a new front door, which should eliminate the rest of the smoke residue from the fire. Plans also call for the addition of the bathroom this year.
We will be holding our general elections for board members at our February meeting. We are happy that Lucia Davila will join us on the board. We are in need of one more board member and someone to take my place, as I am stepping down from my role as president in February, but will still be volunteering my time when I can. I have been privileged and honored to have served with many great and selfless volunteers on the CHHS Board. Thank you for the experience and adventure we have been on together.
Through the hard work of our volunteer board, we have everything in place for someone to take over the reins and be successful at steering the organization into 2017. New ideas are always welcome. I hope those of you who have an interest in keeping our history alive will consider joining the board of this worthwhile charitable group who directly serves Clarendon Hills.
